Larry McClellan has taught in the classroom for over thirty-five years.  Most of those years were in elementary education with the Bartholomew  Consolidated School Corporation in Columbus, Indiana. He taught eighth grade science at Northside Middle School with an incredible science staff, and then retired and went on the road teaching homeschooling parents across the nation. Mr. McClellan now teaches as an adjunct science instructor at IUPUC university in Columbus, Indiana.

Mr. McWiz, as the kids sometimes called him, has lit up the curious eyes of many burgeoning young scientists over his career.  He was nominated by the parents of Parkside Elementary School in Columbus, Indiana, for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics and has his own science website.  His local newspaper, the Republic, has written articles about him many times.  Mr. McClellan has also taught  school convocations and has done many after-school "McWizKid" science workshops. Upon request from his website, he may be available to share his science knowledge to do some teacher or home schooling parent group workshops with his motivational "hands-on" learning presentation.

Larry enjoyed stimulating his student's curiosity by using the "inquiry method" of questioning. This time-tested method has stimulated much scientific investigation by young scientific minds over his many years of teaching. Larry has used this approach throughout his book "McWizKid Science" which emphasizes this as well as science methodology.
